Katalagari Village
An oasis of serenity and beauty
A little bit underneath Archanes, 17 kilometers south east of the Cretan capital Heraklion you will find the small village of Katalagari, close to the Dikti mountains and the Peza valley. Katalagari is a quiet and small traditional Cretan village with little tourism, with the lively and larger village of Archanes (with banks, farmacies, many shops, restaurants and supermarkets) at a stones throw distance.
The approximately 300 inhabitants of Katalagari live mainly from live stock and agriculture and from producing wine. There are a couple of mini markets, kafenions and taverns in the village and all other facilities you find in the nearby villages of Archanes and Peza.
Restaurants near Katalagari include To Spitiko (Greek), Kritamon Restaurant (Greek), Napolitana Italian Restaurant (Italian), Taverna Onisimos (Greek) and Domatini (Coffee Shop, Italian, Mediterranean, Vegetarian, Bistro).
